(Act 10:36) The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
Peace is the message of the kingdom of God. Last time I wrote to you we were sharing how fear does not belong to us as the children of God.
Many need to change their personal theology. Even if we are sitting under proper teaching in church, we often carry around a personal inner conversation of fear. It comes from many places, work environments, school, associates, media, even just the pressure of life. If we do not feed on the Word, we can be swept up with the fears that consume the world. We are to be clothed in something different from the world. Instead of them influencing the believers, believers should be influencing the world with the message of Peace.
We need to lay aside the garments of heaviness, put on the garments of praise.
(Isa 61:3) To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Even with proper teaching, we are surrounded 24/7 by the message of the world. It is so easy to slip into a wrong way of thinking, of perceiving ourselves, when we are getting a steady dose of misinformation. It requires a will to re-orient ourselves constantly toward Peace.
I know; when we are beset by trials how difficult it can be to keep our peace. Yet, this is the Lords requirement to those are listening.
(Rom 3:17) And the way of peace have they not known:
The world does not know the path of peace; that is our job; we are to teach them, show them, and demonstrate it to them.
There is a path of peace, not only TO God, but through life itself. However, for the unbelievers who have never heard anything but doom and gloom this is very hard to accept, until they can see it properly demonstrated. Even many believers struggle to accept the peace of God, striving with the issues of life and finances puts us in a defensive position. Take back the offensive, it belongs to you.
(Rom 8:6) For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:
When we start thinking with a different mind, a new set of thought patterns, allowing the thoughts of God to dominate our thinking processes’ we will find Joy, Peace and Hope: but it requires BELIEVING. Believing is the act of thinking new thoughts and acting upon them.
(Rom 15:13) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Php 4:7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Finally, when we look closely at Php 4:7, I like that word guard, or keep in KJV. It means to post advance guards or spies. Peace is Gods’ Advance Guard, when we allow peace to work it will give us advance notice of potential problems; tell us what to avoid, or where the attack is coming from. It is God’s spies sent to give you forewarning so that you can maintain your PEACE in all circumstances. How? Follow the peace, if there is no peace in the direction your moving, change directions, move toward peace.
We want you to walk in Peace, that is our prayer for you as you read this letter. Let God’s Holy Spirit fill you again, over and over with Joy and Peace. Hope again, don’t lose it, KEEP it. When we release our anxieties and keep His peace, then he can do the miraculous. There is nothing bigger than our God.
God bless you,
